10-24-15 On the Rockwell Canyon Route
Do to maintenance on the PanAm line ST management is
using trackage rights to speed delivery.
Currently the bridge over the Merrimack river in Haverhill, MA is under slow orders while it is being repaired.
This is backing up Amtrak, MBTA and PanAm freights.
Suleski Transportation sent their Dash 9 unit along with a
recently purchased GP40.
The
GP40 is still in primer and the Dash 9 is still in old CSX livery.
Our paint department is trying to get these units in, but
demand has kept them on the rails.
A special shipment for the US Army was also making a run through.
Rockwall Canyons busy yard.
Photos of the Army train taken by the ST Conductor as he walked his train.
It
was probably a security violation but no one stopped him.

New Safety Kleen tanker used to recycle our used fliuds.
The Rockwall Canyon Passenger train is in the siding
at the station.
GP-9's 1743 and
1742 power the train.
The US Army train pulls by giving the passengers an interesting sight.
The Rockwall Canyon mixed freight heads out with an unusual power lash up.
ST GP-40 follows the Rockwall Canyon Freight out of the yard and across the old
wooden tressel.
Our train crews hold their breath and
cross their fingers until they get across.
We know Rockwell Canyon checks it, but its still a very
old wooden tressel.
3 trains passing in the midwest might be normal, but in New England this is a rare sight.
It was a great fall day in New England!
